RESUMEI am a 49 year old South African Head Sawdoctor currently employed with a large sawmilling concern in our Cape Province. We process aproximately 650 cubic meter S.A. Pine per double shift utilising the following Wetmill machinery - Guillete Wide Vertical Bandsaw - 2 Linck V25 Canter Chippers - - Shurman Double arbor Gang Saw - 2 Linck SE600 Frame Saws plus various Board Edger and Re-saws.
This sawmill will be closing down in June 2001 due to a shortage of round logs in the area, and because the island that it operated on has been re-zoned as a residential area. I located your e-mail address in the March 2000 edition of ' Armstrong Saw Engineer' Apart from my sawfiling experience gained while working for various sawmills in South Africa I also completed a three and a half year Tool and Cutter Grinding program while working for " Armscor" the South African Armaments Corporation. This entailed the grinding of tools and cutters for the engineering Industry and working to very fine tolerances. I completed a Wide Bandsaw course under the supervision of Mr Keene Strobel during his visit to S.A in 1977. - It was mentioned in the ' Saw engineer" edition of the same year.
Further to the above, my fiance is 32 years old and the Production Planner of a large solid timber furniture manufacturer in our town. We plan on getting married early next year and she is also very keen to work overseas.
I require a firm employment offer and sponsorship to allow me to enter America or Canada with a work permit.
I am prepared to work wherever my services are required and I thank you in anticipation of any assistance you may offer me.
